CAESAR Awards 2009

PRESS RELEASE

The third edition of „CAESAR Awards” defines luxury for 2009

The tradition of CAESAR Awards cotinues for the third year in a row. The magazine’s subscribers have voted on www.caesaremporium.com in order to establish the most relevant luxury products and services for 2009. Structuring the awards in seven categories has proved CAESAR talent to reflect the performance of the Romanian luxury industry. The lack of local interest has determined the removal of the CAESAR Best Fragrance award. On the other hand, the introduction of CAESAR Best High End Stereo and CAESAR Best Home Design reveal the evolution of the Hi-Fi and of the luxury furniture markets in Romania.

For 2009, the subscribers have decided to award Chopard L.U.C. Tourbillon Tech Twist as „CAESAR Best Watch”. The distinction comes to confirm the technical value of the mechanism and the exceptional design, specific features for the Haute Horologerie creations. The Chopard brand is represented in Romania by Micri Gold Bijuterii.

The award “CAESAR Best Car” has been granted to Lexus LS600h. The high number of votes that have indicated the japonese model confirm the reorientation of the luxury segment towards the avangardist technologies. Lexus LS600h is the most powerful hybrid limousine in the world, at this time.

The new “CAESAR Best Yacht” is Ferretti Altura 840, a special model which rememorates the Altura line from years 1970 – 1980. Ferretti proves the ability to adapt classic motifs to the new trends in the field of luxury boats. Ferretti is represented in Romania by Francos Marina.

The title CAESAR Best Spirit has been associated by the votes to Chivas Regal 25, represented by Pernot Ricard Romania. The new whisky designated as the reference for 2009 recalls a sortiment of Chivas Regal initially presented one hundred years ago.

For CAESAR Best Airline, the award went to Qatar Airways for the ability to maintain their services at a very high standard. Proving that they have a profound culture in the field of luxury services, CAESAR’s subscribers have chosen Qatar Airlines even if there are not any direct flyes operated from Romania.

The distinction CAESAR Best High End Stereo, awarded for the first time, has been won by the Mcintosh MT 10 pick-up. Choosing such a high acoustic fidelity product represents an obvious clue about the way CAESAR has decided to value the hi-fi field. McIntosh is represented in Romania by High Life.

The last news of the Awards, CAESAR Best Home Design, has proposed for voting a special selection of luxury furniture. The subscribers have decided on www.caesaremporium.com that the award should go to Vero model, manufactured by Rolf Benz. The German brand is represented in Romania by High Life.

Following the tradition started in 2006, CAESAR Awards have been announced on November 20th during the CAESAR Awards Gala. Following products and services, CAESAR has also awarded an important character from the luxury watches industry. The CAESAR Best Honoris awarded was personally handed to Richard Mille for special merits in the Haute Horlogerie segment. Richard Mille came to Romania following the invitation of CAESAR and Carte Noir, an exclusive BRD Group Societe Generale card, launched at the Gala.

The third edition of CAESAR Awards Gala was hosted by Crowne Plaza and gathered over 200 guests. Besides the subscribers and luxury industry representatives, the Prime Minister of Romania, Mr. Calin Popescu Tariceanu, Ion Tiriac, Ilie Nastase and Nadia Comaneci, attended the event. The ambiance was haighlighted by previewing the Cantamessa exclusive jewelery.
